29th November, the Day of Solidarity with Palestinian people

29th November was the Day of Solidarity with Palestinian people. We decided to show our support throught the art. Nearby Isreal embassy in Prague were placed seven different pieces of art. Through this art we expressed our statements and feelings about the occupation of the Palestinian land as well as we aimed to point out the suffering, which is being experienced of the Palestinian people every single day, caused by Israel.

Freedom Writers on May Day

At this year's May Day (political festival organized by AFA - http://2011.mayday-festival.cz/ ) you can for the first time look forward to Freedom Writers stand, where beside of small DIY distro you can also find a space for making your own stencils or banners, which you can hang up somewhere in the city, for example as a part of the city game (more at http://anarchistickymaj2011.wordpress.com/), you can make your own stickers or paint at the prepared wall. There are going to be also linen bags and textile paints, so you can make, for example by using stencils, a bag with your own motif. The graffiti jam wall, which you can observe within the frame of May Day, is already completely booked so there is really something to look forward, however space for the people who would like to try painting for the first time, or test their own stencils will be ensured.

There are going to be paints and caps for sale. Events that are going to take place in the Freedom Writers stand are issued from our ideas, but we are trying for the maximal provision of self actualisation for everybody, so if you have any idea or experience, do not hesitate to come and share it with others. We do not want to be just organisers, we are happy to learn something.

How did the Antifa Hip Hop Night go?

We thank all of the people who supported one of the uncommon events under the flag of Antifascist Action – hip hop show Freedom Writers that took place on May 2, 2011 in the 007 club on Strahov. 007 is the place that suits a hip hop night the best and the bands that played suit the ideals of Antifascist Action just as well. The trio of the bands – Kurzer Prozess from Germany, Prague’s very own Bonus and Plugnplay and K?ik z Ticha from Jihlava – attracted more than 120 people. The atmosphere was great and the organizers made it even better with delicious home made catering. The bands themselves, mainly Kurzer Prozess, relished the spirit of the event. The profit will be used as a contribution for funding of upcoming events organized by the Freedom Writers.
